Yesterday we had some new friends over. One of the kids saw my son’s Transformers backpack.
He said, “Is that a Decepticon?”
His dad said, “No, that’s an Autobot.”
The kid asked, “What’s an Autobot?”
The dad said, “The good guys.”
The kid asked, “Why are the bad guys called DECEPTicons?”
The dad thought, then said, “Because they are democrats.”
To be fair to those democrats out there:
I was having lunch with my wife’s aunt and husband one time in a public place. It was during the Bush II presidency, after the war in in Iraq had begun. There was this sound, and everyone looked up. I said something along the lines of it being funny, how everyone is looking up to the sky but no one has a clue what is going on. He said, “Yeah, reminds me of Republicans.”
